Stop-and-Wait ARQ

Stop-and-wait is one of the automatic repeat-request (ARQ) techniques. The sender in stop-and-wait sends one frame and waits until it receives an ACK (acknowledgement) from the receiver before sending the next frame. The sender sets what is called a timeout. If the sender does not receive the ACK before that timeout, the sender retransmits the same frame again.
